General Terms of Use

1. Scope

These terms apply to the use of Zertally, offered by the provider named in the Legal notice section.

2. Service

Zertally helps groups record and settle shared expenses. The service is free and funded by advertising. There is no guarantee of specific availability or features.

3. Account

You need an account to use the service. Keep your login details secret. You can delete your account yourself at any time under “My account” with “Delete account”.

4. Your responsibilities

Do not enter unlawful content and only invite people to groups who agree to it. Only store other people's bank details or PayPal names with their consent. In case of misuse, such as automated login attempts or disruption of the site, we may suspend or delete an account.

5. No payment processing

Zertally only calculates who owes whom how much. No money is transferred via Zertally. Check amounts yourself before making a transfer; exchange rates and scanned receipts may differ. Links to PayPal and WhatsApp lead to third-party services, which are subject to their own terms. Export important settlements as PDF or Excel if you want to keep them permanently.

6. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body, or health. In cases of slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of essential obligations and limited to typically foreseeable damages.

7. Changes

We may amend these terms. We will give timely notice of material changes.

8. Final provisions

German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence remain unaffected.
